When Exporting

There are no special regional programs to support exporters in Podkarpacie. They can count on free assistance of Poland-wide network of Investors and Exporters’ Service Centers (Centra Obsługi Inwestorów i Eksporterów (COIE)). This network was formed by the Ministry of Economy in cooperation with local autonomies.

These centers attempt to boost the activity of Polish companies on foreign markets through facilitation of access to information necessary to plan and effect export.

The Podkarpacie division of COIE (Investors and Exporters’ Service Centers) has been functioning since October 2011 and supports undertakers who plan to commence export activity, or to further develop such an activity.

The support embraces: seminaries focusing on foreign markets, export issues, and economic missions including their service.

Another measure to help exporters is business meetings for Polish and foreign entrepreneurs, as well as looking among the Podkarpacie suppliers for those, who correspond with the business inquiries from foreign importers.

Future exporters in Podkarpacie by means of COIE may learn the procedures how to win the money to co-finance export activity and foreign investments engaging the European Union programs.

To use the services of the COIE experts you may send an inquiry via e-mail, or make an appointment at a center in Rzeszów (Rzeszowska Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego, ul. Szopena 51). Information may be obtained at www.podkarpackie.coie.gov.pl .

Thus far, 1500 exporters and companies employed the services of Podkarpacie COIE.

Entrepreneurs took part in trainings organized by COIE. They included seminaries centered on export issues, e.g. planning, organizing, and effecting export to eastern markets, to Germany, and to Great Britain. Undertakers participated also in preparing trade offers or international contracts.

The Center organized also branch meetings dealing with organization of ecologic food export, fitosanitary issues, or requirements referring to ecologic food trade on Union markets.

One of the successes of Podkarpacie COIE division is finding regional suppliers for over 700 foreign entrepreneurs. The process of spotting a supplier begins with an offer, which is verified whether Podkarpacie undertakers are able to meet the importers’ requirements. Then, the contact data are transferred to the local companies interested in cooperation.

Foreign importers have been looking for suppliers in Podkarpacie who deal in such branches as: food industry, chemical and plastics industry, metal industry, computer science industry and furniture industry.

As part of economic mission for air sector companies from France, two companies decided to join the pro-export aspect, which is finding suppliers from Podkarpacie Voivodeship, with the pro-business aspect. The companies are presently verifying the possibility of investments in Podkarpacie.

COIE took part as a partner in missions organized by Polish Agency of Information and Foreign Investments (Polska Agencja Informacji i Inwestycji Zagranicznych) from: Rumania, Russia, Georgia, Canada, Korea, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, China, and the USA.

The Podkarpacie center elaborated also a bilingual material for entrepreneurs of pro-export and pro-business nature. It contains information for foreign importers and investors.
